I usually leave the edges of these chairs unfinished but I decided to burnish the edges on these three. Anyone who has burnished edges knows it takes some elbow grease. I made a lathe powered burnisher by using a steel bead scratch stock blade to scrape a groove onto a cherry offcut.
I use a sponge to wet the edge of the leather then run the edge over the groove a few times and the result is a smooth burnished edge.
The rounded cutout hasn't been burnished, the straight edge has.
